Lies a sonnet of desolate dwellings, where memories fade away.
Where Life Once Quartered in abandoned halls and rooms,
Whispers of forgotten stories and forgotten souls' tombs.

Within decrepit walls, their stories etched in decay,
These forsaken abodes, where life's vibrance once held sway.
A symphony of solitude, reverberating through vacant space,
The remnants of human existence, a melancholic embrace.

Hear the creak of worn floorboards, their mournful lament,
A chorus of shattered dreams, as the walls bemoan their descent.
Cracked windows like veiled eyes, veiled to the world outside,
Veiled to the passage of time, where veiled secrets tend to hide.

The winds through broken doorways, their mournful sighs,
Whispering tales of lives extinguished, where hope slowly dies.
Faded wallpapers and peeling paint, remnants of forgotten care,
Now engulfed in shadows, lost to neglect's cruel snare.

In these abandoned dwellings, where loneliness finds its home,
Ghosts of the past linger, haunting each vacant room's dome.
Their ethereal presence, an echo of life's fleeting song,
Bound to crumbling foundations, where time has been so long.

Through shattered ceilings, moonlight casts its somber glow,
Illuminating the relics of lives lived long ago.
Each crack and crevice whispers secrets of a bygone age,
Whispers of joy and sorrow, lost within this forgotten cage.

Where Life Once Quartered, a requiem for these forsaken lands,
An elegy for the dwellings left to decay in desolate sands.
May their memories find solace in the verses that now ensue,
Preserving their fading essence, in this ode's darkened hue.

this music is dark but not overwhelming. it's calming, actually. kudos to Bruce for having the courage to open up to the world like this with his words and sounds (such a rarity, i haven't heard it's like since the naked honesty of Michael Plaster's lyrics as Soul Whirling Somewhere so many years ago). i regret there isn't room in my budget for the physical. I love the harp, flute, and strings, paired with deep subterranean drone-echoes; together they beautifully evoke a setting of ancient Mystery and wonder. Hearing the chanted invocations to Mithras, the ghosts of dead worshippers join their voices with those of the living, resonating in your soul….
